“Andy Warhol: Time Capsules”
This unique Andy Warhol exhibition features eight of Andy’s 600 time capsules that he made from 1974 until his death in 1987. The choice of these eight capsules was influenced by the 1989 “Songs of Drella” concept album by Lou Reed and John Cale that honored their friend and mentor Andy Warhol. These time capsules are dated or titled cardboard boxes filled with objects from Warhol’s daily life: photos, newspaper clippings, personal notes, books, drawings, letters, etc. They are mini cabinets of curiosity that reveal a more private (side of) Warhol.
RBA had the pleasure of organizing the transportation of these works from the Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh to Paris, France, where they reached their destination of the MAC, or Musée d’Art Contemporain, in Marseilles.
